Can You Hug Me Forever, Mom?

There was a time in my life when I felt embarrassed to still depend on my parents

especially my mom.

Those teenage years, you know.

That strange, rebellious season when you believe freedom means standing far away from the people who raised you.

I wanted to prove I could conquer the world on my own.

I thought needing my mother meant I was weak.

Funny how time turns the table.

Now, all I want is to be held by my mom again.

Just for a little while. Maybe for longer than that.

It’s strange, the older I get, the more I realize how much I still need her.

Not because I can’t make decisions on my own. I can.

Not because I’m incapable of living my life. I am.

But sometimes the world feels too loud, too heavy.

And in those moments, what I long for is something simple—

my mother’s warmth, her quiet presence, the comfort of knowing I don’t have to carry everything alone.

I should be wiser now, shouldn’t I?

More mature. More capable.

And maybe I am.

But some part of me still wants to return to a place where I don’t have to be strong all the time.

To exist without worrying about tomorrow.

To be a little girl again, just for a moment.

To be free from responsibilities, free from the weight of growing up.

So tell me, Mom, can you hug me forever?
