That was the moment I smiled at you and shook my head. "No," I said. But deep inside my heart the smile carried so many quiet yeses.

Because it was actually "yes."

Yes, there was something left behind.

I left the smile I gave to you on the banquette, I left the laughter we shared on the table, I left my giggles on our plates... I left it all.

I left my heart in that entire restaurant.

Just so I could remember that we were there, and I'll come back for it later. I'll pick up our laughter, our smiles, our chats that we shared, and the heart I left behind.
