The nine Muses in Greek mythology are the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (the Titan goddess of memory), each representing an inspiration of arts and science. Calliope for epic poetry, Clio for history, Erato for love poetry, Euterpe for music and lyric poetry, Melpomene for tragedy, Polyhymnia for hymns and sacred poetry, Terpsichore for dance, Thalia for comedy and idyllic poetry, and Urania for astronomy. They are often accompanied by Apollo (the god of the sun, poetry, music, archery, prophecy, healing, and more). Just like the nine muses, The Nine Muses Magazine wishes to give women a chance to be a representation of their very own art inspirations.
The Nine Muses Magazine is an independent digital magazine exclusively for women that explores diversity and authenticity in both life and art. We are building a space for women to grow through literature, both in writing and reading, and for women to voice their thoughts and souls in hopes of growing together for the better.
We are something small but genuine from the heart, dedicated to the girls who think and feel too deeply, the girls who see the world obscurely, the girls who seek conversations of art and life above all else, the girls who found themselves in excerpts of books and poetry and movies, the girls who live in their own little yet crowded heads.
Yours truly,
The Nine Muses Magazine.
